Tarbin Gardens

A new resident in the Barnyard is Jenny the hinny; a rare cross between a female donkey and a male pony. Jenny has the donkey cross on her back and a flowing pony tale. She loves apples, bring one and she will delicately pick her way to the fence to greet you.

In 2007 a new garden was designed and planted above the Alpine Slope. Named the Spire Garden it features tall columnar trees and perennials.

We have expanded the gardens to include two new areas for exploration.

West End Lane winds through a lightly wooded area emerging with a view of Sundew Pond, then slopes down past specimen trees to join Sundew Lane behind the Koi Pond.

Mayapple Dell is a woodland area. It features a dry streambed curving through huge boulders and ending in a small pond. The area will be restricted to native woodland plants and naturalized spring bulbs. The streambed is a natural land drain and fills after heavy rains.

We have enlarged the parking lot to accommodate full size buses.

Clearing the area for extra parking has let more sun shine into the gardens entrance, so this Spring we will be landscaping this area with sun loving plants.

We have expanded the seating area and almost doubled the seating capacity for English Cream Teas. This English tradition is much appreciated as a gentle, relaxing experience.

Evening hours: In June and July we will open the gardens in the evening by appointment  to Garden clubs and other groups.

Please call 603-934-3518 or e-mail info@tarbingardens.com to make an appointment for your group.
